Recent Meeting (Nov. 20, 2008)

Today the council met to discuss the many sub groups roles and their objectives. We also assigned leaders to each of the groups, thus getting into the structure of shared power. We then moved on to discuss the mission statement. Honestly i can't remember a lot because that meeting was a huge blur of amazing energy. But as soon as i get the meeting notes from Aubrey(Thank you so much for being the secretary i'd be lost without one) i shall post them! But AWESOME job today guys we're only a few meetings away from going public!

Summary: Meeting among leaders and people interested in leading committee.

Leadership

* facilitate communication
* make sure everything comes together
* delegating work

Presentation Groups:

* Partnerships that go out to companies etc to present our cause and garner support

Fundraising:

* In and out of school communities
* Lot’s of small projects
* Research and pursue venues for fundraising

Events:

o very big
o works closely with fundraising

Promotion:

* advertise in and out of school for money and support

Media:

o get in the newspaper or on the news
o local and large scale
o inform people of what’s going on

Fewer subgroups to keep people more together

Connections:

o build connections with other groups or organizations
o share connections we already have

Involvement:

* Organize letter writing and cutesy events
* Keep people connected with Sudan and each other
* decorate the room
* Preserve unity
* Spirit Squad
